The first aim of the day was to remember Bob Fletcher, a former chairman of our club and a wonderful man. We hold an annual Bob Fletcher Memorial Match and this was the centrepoint of the Festival of Football. Bob was "old-school" - as ‘Bucket man’ he would revive injured players with a wet sponge and a quick draw on a Dunhill King Size.. As chairman, he helped the committee to reinvigorate the club and had great vision and plans for the club, and would have been very proud of a day like this. Bob leaves a wife, Beverley, a son, Nick, and a daughter, Chloe.
The second aim of the day was to bring all the Grendon teams together...
And maybe to have a bit of fun...
The U6s were first off the mark...
And were pretty confident against the weird-looking opposition...
