The U16 squad
Photos Fixtures

2009-10:

September 6th saw us play our opening fixture in the Oxfordshire FA Invitation League. Most of the teams in our league have stepped up from the Oxford Boys League so this will give us the chance to play against a different range of opposition. The squad is very similar to last year and we have similar high expectations.

Fixtures are on Sunday afternoons - see the fixture list below - and training will be each Friday 6.30-7.30pm at Waddesdon Secondary School Astro-turf pitch. The session is open to all signed-on squad members.

Squad members also have the opportunity of training with the men's teams on Wednesday at Waddesdon - again 6.30-7.30pm.

Down to the last 12 standing at the beginning and lost Bestie early on. The walking wounded were superb and battled and took the game to Wantage right to the end but despite some excellent defending, the Wantage finishing was too good. MOTM : all 12 - very proud management team!

First match in long time - disrupted by injuries to both sides. Summertown down to 9 by end of match and we relaxed too much & gave up 2 pens. MOTM : Riley for excellent finishing even with dead leg.

14th Mar

W 6-0

Super game - controlled from start with goal in first 2 minutes. 5-0 at HT. MOTM : Kemp - calm finishing when needed.

Priestley
More injuries meant something of a scratch team and with Emery hurt again early on, it was a rearguard action much of the way. 1-1 at half-time, we couldn't keep up and heads went down.

28th Mar

Away

Horspath

2pm

L 3-1
Evans
Delayed bridge repair work over the A34 meant a 30 minute journey turned into a 2 hour nightmare as we inched our way into Oxford. We arrived 15 minutes after kickoff and the late start, bumpy pitch and blustery wind suited the home side more as they launched high ball after high ball out of their half. Even so we coped well and at 2-0 down at HT we fancied our passing football to come into it more in the second half with the wind behind us. A soft goal early on set us back though and although we came back strongly we couldn't force the ball in until 5 minutes from time. It meant for an exciting end but it was not enough.

Really good performance, really solid. Went behind in first half but came back strongly and created lots of chances. MOTM: Bell
